Mangle

You're not you
I'm not me
Flickered, burnt, erased.

What we are is ultimately, our own business.

Yes and no. Yes because we are individuals on a self serving process that is necessarily selfish at times. No because we always carry people and their expectations with us that we have at one point encouraged through some sort of interaction-- emotional or verbal or both. We necessarily become part of others' life choices.
Only someone who allows themselves to a bare minimum of these social transactions can say that what they do is their own business, "ultimately."
Selective isolation is the business of those who are deeply entrenched in a self-seeking process that negates others' expectations just because it doesnt suit that process. It wont be long before people catch on. And leave.
Barring ones' parents, probably.

Hopefully. ;)

But, you have to admit. It's terrible system. Being selfish is so much easier.
